New Facility Will Bring as Many as 400 New Jobs to Phoenix in the Next Two Years
First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation,
a member of The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF) family of
companies, in conjunction with the city of Phoenix, today announced the
opening of its new Phoenix customer service call center. First American
Home Buyers Protection, which has already hired 80 employees, expects
to create as many as 400 new positions over the course of the next two
years.
The grand opening of the new call center was celebrated with a
ribbon-cutting ceremony with management and staff from First American
Home Buyers Protection and officials from the city of Phoenix. Barry
Broome, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council,
attended the ceremony and City Councilwoman Thelda Williams spoke about
the important role the call center fills in the Phoenix job market.
“First American Home Buyers Protection is one of the nation’s largest
home warranty companies, providing homebuyers and sellers protection
against costly repairs and replacements on their home’s essential
systems and appliances,” said Broome. “We welcome them as one of the
city’s major employers and look forward to their expansion and growth
in the Greater Phoenix area.”
First American Home Buyers Protection chose to locate its call center
in Phoenix in order to take advantage of the city’s enhanced
infrastructure, convenient location and access to its large and highly
skilled labor pool. This Phoenix-based call center provides support for
First American Home Buyers Protection’s home warranty operations in 35
states.
“We are impressed with the quality and experience of the applicants in
the Phoenix area and are excited about the opening of our new
facility,” said Jeff Powell, vice president of First American Home
Buyers Protection Corporation. “We are in the first phase of making
Phoenix our primary call center location and we will continue hiring as
our operation grows. We are proud to be part of this community, which
we have served with our home warranty products for many years.”
“Phoenix’s skilled workforce is a perfect fit for First American Home
Buyers Protection’s new call center,” said Councilwoman Williams. “Not
only did the city's Community and Economic Development Department
assist with site selection, we continue to work with the company to
find qualified candidates through our Phoenix Workforce Connection,
which will help as First American Home Buyers Protection plans for
growth over the next few years.”
March 1, 2010, marked the first day of operation for the facility and
its 80 new employees. Over the next three months, First American Home
Buyers Protection will continue to fill a number of open positions with
the hiring of nearly 100 additional employees. First American Home
Buyers Protection is an equal opportunity employer. Interested
