Quarterly Updated Fire Station Data
Knowing where a homeowner's property is in relation to a fire station helps insurance companies determine the property’s fire ranking. Our fire stations and response areas database contains fire station locations and fire response areas incorporated into a standardized, national, digital database that we update quarterly.
When compiling federal, state, local and commercial sources, we verify fire station locations using our parcel-level geocoding and spatial technologies, highly accurate road network data, high-resolution aerial photography, onsite visits and personal contact surveys. We base our fire response areas on county and municipal boundaries, as well as fire district boundaries gathered directly from local sources in each state.
Our database also provides such valuable information as the type of district (indicating whether a station is full time, voluntary or both), the distance from the nearest station to a property and the geographic coordinates of each fire station.
