Each year, severe hail events inevitably cause serious damage and are one of the leading causes of property related claims, and this year has been no different. 2016 has quickly become one of the most severe hail seasons in Texas history, with year-to-date results reaching the nine-year average for U.S. hail storm damage. “Everything’s bigger in Texas” --at least in terms of hail storms in the spring of 2016.
Using our proprietary hail verification science, CoreLogic® analysis shows an entire area covered by the hail storms that impacted, Fort Worth, Plano, Wylie and San Antonio in March and April, 2016. CoreLogic examines each severe hail event through analysis of the storm paths, hail size and property locations affected by the storms footprint, to determine the estimated residential damage left in the wake of each event.
