Tom Larsen

Tom Larsen is a Senior Director for CoreLogic-Protect responsible for leading the industry adoption of technologies facilitating the management of natural catastrophe risk consequences as well as advancing industry-leading thought leadership on risk assessment opportunities and post-event response to catastrophes.

Tom’s career has focused on developing and delivering solutions to the challenges presented by infrequent, large-scale disasters. He has written numerous research papers and articles, participated on a plethora of industry panels and is an active member of several industry association boards. He is also a frequent speaker on the financial and societal impact of natural catastrophes on homes, communities and businesses.

Career highlights include:

• Transitioning a risk model to a massively parallel grid-based computing solution.
• Developing EQECAT CatWatch catastrophe event response newsletter.
• Integrating natural catastrophe underwriting and risk management models, data and analytics into a comprehensive suite of products addressing the needs of insurers.

Tom joined CoreLogic in 2013 with the acquisition of EQECAT, Inc., a catastrophe risk management firm, where he last held the title of Senior Vice President and Chief Product Architect. Roles in EQECAT included leading product management and client support, as well as leading the development and maintenance of CoreLogic’s WORLDCATenterprise platform.

Tom earned a M. Eng. in Structural Mechanics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Stanford University. He is based in Oakland, California.
