Credco is a consumer reporting agency that assembles and evaluates consumer information and provides consumer reports to third parties for the purpose of extending offers of credit, and/or other purposes as permitted by law. The Consumer Assistance Department at Credco can provide you with a copy of the information we maintain about you that may be used in determining this information.
Credco is a consumer reporting agency that provides consumer reports to its clients (which consist of banks, mortgage companies and other lending institutions) for the purpose of credit risk assessment and/or other purposes as permitted by law. As a consumer reporting agency, we may disclose information about you only to companies that you have authorized to access your information or those that have a permissible purpose under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Credco is a reseller of consumer report information and does not maintain a database from which new consumer reports are produced.
Credco specializes in merged credit reports, which may bring together data from all three of the national consumer credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion). Our customers (generally for purposes of a lending transaction), use our report to help them determine whether to approve a loan/credit application. If you see the reference to Credco on an inquiry, check for the name of the company that ordered through us.
If you don’t recognize an inquiry don’t immediately assume it is fraudulent. If you recently applied for an automotive loan/lease, applied for a new mortgage loan, applied to refinance an existing loan or have completed other applications for credit, it is likely the inquiry you see may be the result of that transaction. The inquiry will have a date in which our customer requested to receive your information, that can help you identify the specific transaction or application you completed.
If you have researched the inquiry and still do not recognize it or have additional questions you can contact our Consumer Assistance Department calling us at: (800) 637-2422. Our customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 6:00AM to 5:00PM PST to assist you.
